Notes: see comments regarding mileage below. This estimate does not include parts (client supplied), but has included shop charges. Additional charges may be fluids - penetrating solvents, clutch fluid, parts cleaner, as well as machine work or replacement of the flywheel, depending on its condition.

If the flywheel needs to be remove an additional .2 hours is justifiable. An additional .2 is also acceptable if the pilot bearing requires replacement for a total of 7.6 hours.

Some labor guides have the standard times at 6.7 hours, but 7.6 is more common.

Important: when clients supply the parts, repair shops may inflate labor charges to make up for lost profit margins.

Glossary of Terms:

Aftermarket: parts not made by the manufacturer such as Ford, Toyota, BMW ...etc.

MSRP: Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price

OEM: Original Equipment Manufacturer

TSBs: Technical Service Bulletins provided by the manufacturer (they are not recalls)

Flat Fees: services such as alignments that don't get broken down into parts, tax, labor

Miscellaneous Charges: these can include, but are not limited to shop supplies--rags, chemicals, hazardous waste disposal fees, waste oil ...etc.

About our auto repair estimates: RepairTrust models established fair pricing practices (as outlined in its eBook Trilogy), and uses state-of-the-art auto repair estimating software and 20 years of auto repair pricing expertise to obtain the most accurate and fair car repair estimates.

Aftermarket part price quotes are based off premium parts, unless otherwise noted.

The labor rate defaults to $100.00 per hour, unless otherwise noted.

Estimates are dependent on customer-supplied information, and can not account for unforeseen circumstances.

High mileage vehicles often require additional parts and/or labor to complete repairs properly, thus estimates may need to be adjusted.

All estimates are subject to change without notice.
